Radhanagar

Radhanagar is a village in Arambagh subdivision of Hooghly district of West Bengal. It is the birthplace of the renowned social reformist Raja Rammohun Roy. The ancestral home of Raja Ram Mohan Roy is one of the main attractions of the place. In front of the house there is a memorial hall, the architecture of which was planned by the famous Bengali poet and writer Rabindranath Tagore. A Dolmanch is situated near the hall. You can take a stroll to Raghunathpur where you will find mango orchards with lots of mango trees that were planted by Raja Ram Mohan Roy. In winter, one can get permit for picnic inside the mango orchards of Raghunathpur.

The nearest convenient railway station is Tarakeshwar which is well connected to Kolkata. Frequent bus services are available from Tarakeshwar to Basudevpur in Arambagh. You can also reach Basudevpur directly by bus from Esplanade Bus Terminus in Kolkata. Buses are plying from Basudevpur to Khanakul. Trekkers are available from Khanakul to reach Radhanagar.

Rangamati

Rangamati is a beautiful destination located near the Indo-Bhutan border in West Bengal. The view of the Bhutan hills and Gumpha temples from Rangamati is mesmerizing. You can also visit Jaygaon and Funtsolling which are situated at a distance of 10 km from Rangamati. Other attractions of Rangamati include tea garden, crocodile park and monastery.

Zurrantee Tea Estate

Zurrantee Tea Estate (also spelled as Juranti Tea Estate) is a beautiful tea garden which is a 2 hours drive from town of Siliguri in West Bengal. The sprawling tea gardens, lush green hills and the mind-blowing Zurrantee river make the place ideal for nature lovers. The peaceful and tranquil environment of Zurrantee is one of the main attractions of the place. Other attractions include the tea factory, the river and the colonial heritage bungalow. This bungalow was built in the year 1890 and is considered one of the oldest and most well-maintained bungalows of the region. The nearest railway station is New Jalpaiguri which enjoys good connectivity with the rest of the country. Zurrantee Tea Estate is 100 km from New Jalpaiguri. Buses are plying from Jalpaiguri and Siliguri to Meteli. Jeeps are available from Meteli to reach Zurrantee Tea Estate.

Reshikhola

Reshikhola is a small hill village situated at a distance of 37 km from Kalimpong in West Bengal. The place lies at the bank of the Reshi river which marks the border between the Indian states of West Bengal and Sikkim. The village's name is also derived from the name of the river. Although Rishikhola is a completely new destination, it is slowly emerging as a hot favourite for tourists due to its unique location and unmatched scenic beauty. Nestled among dense forests, cascading river and mind blowing landscapes, Reshikhola offers its visitors an ideal retreat from the hectic city life. Aritar Lake is located 6 km from Reshikhola. Totopara Lankapara

Totopara is a tribal village situated near Indo-Bhutan border at a distance of 22 km from Madarihat in West Bengal. The village is mainly inhabited by the Toto tribes. Lankapara is located 7 km ahead of Totopara on the way from Madarihat to Totopara. There are two forest bungalows on the top of the hill at Lankapara. A watchtower near Lankapara facilitates viewing of wild animals, birds and the natural beauty of the place. Titi river flows by the side of Lankapara. You can enjoy the view of a memorable sunset in the backdrop of tea gardens from the bank of the river. Deer and bison are often spotted at Lankapara.

The nearest railway station is Hasimara which is well connected to Kolkata by train. Madarihat is 12 km from Hasimara. Totopara lies at a distance of 22 km and Lankapara at a distance of 15 km from Madarihat. Hired cars are available to reach Lankapara and Totopara.

Charkhol

Charkhol is a small Lepcha village situated at a distance of 12 km from Lolegaon and 34 km from Kalimpong in West Bengal. Standing at an altitude of 3500 ft, the village is surrounded by forests of oak, pine, cypress, sal and rhododendron trees. Charkhol is a paradise for birdwatchers as well as those who love butterflies. Various species of birds like Indian robin, ashy prinia, green-backed tit, blue fronted redstart and hill myna are seen at Charkhole. Charkhole also offers its visitors an unique and mind blowing view of the snow capped peaks of the Himalayas. Apart from Mt. Kanchenjunga and its range, one can get a clear mesmerizing view of the tallest mountain in the world, Mt. Everest. The view of the lighted Kalimpong town at night from Charkhol is truly beautiful. Antpur

Antpur is a village in Hooghly district of West Bengal. It consists of eight smaller villages namely Tara, Bamnagar, Kumarbazar, Dharampur, Ranibazar, Anarbati, Bilara and Lohagachhi. The place hosts an array of temples. The most famous temple of Antpur is the Radhagobinda Temple with exquisite terracotta carvings on its walls. The temple is 100 ft tall with various scenes from mythology as well as everyday life depicted on small terracotta panels on the walls of the temple. The Chandi Mandap and Dol Mancha have beautifully crafted wood carvings. Beside the main temple, there are five Shiva temples which also exhibit terracotta work. Sarada Bhawan is located opposite to Radhagovindjiu Temple. The temple remains closed from 12 pm to 3 pm.
