Radhanagar

Radhanagar is a village in Arambagh subdivision of Hooghly district of West Bengal. It is the birthplace of the renowned social reformist Raja Rammohun Roy. The ancestral home of Raja Ram Mohan Roy is one of the main attractions of the place. In front of the house there is a memorial hall, the architecture of which was planned by the famous Bengali poet and writer Rabindranath Tagore. A Dolmanch is situated near the hall. You can take a stroll to Raghunathpur where you will find mango orchards with lots of mango trees that were planted by Raja Ram Mohan Roy. In winter, one can get permit for picnic inside the mango orchards of Raghunathpur.

How to Reach

The nearest convenient railway station is Tarakeshwar which is well connected to Kolkata. Frequent bus services are available from Tarakeshwar to Basudevpur in Arambagh. You can also reach Basudevpur directly by bus from Esplanade Bus Terminus in Kolkata. Buses are plying from Basudevpur to Khanakul. Trekkers are available from Khanakul to reach Radhanagar.

Rangamati

Rangamati is a beautiful destination located near the Indo-Bhutan border in West Bengal. The view of the Bhutan hills and Gumpha temples from Rangamati is mesmerizing. You can also visit Jaygaon and Funtsolling which are situated at a distance of 10 km from Rangamati. Other attractions of Rangamati include tea garden, crocodile park and monastery.

The nearest railway station is Hasimara which is connected to Kolkata. Rangamati is 15 km from Hasimara. Hired cars are available from Hasimara to reach Rangamati.

Zurrantee Tea Estate

Zurrantee Tea Estate (also spelled as Juranti Tea Estate) is a beautiful tea garden which is a 2 hours drive from town of Siliguri in West Bengal. The sprawling tea gardens, lush green hills and the mind-blowing Zurrantee river make the place ideal for nature lovers. The peaceful and tranquil environment of Zurrantee is one of the main attractions of the place. Other attractions include the tea factory, the river and the colonial heritage bungalow. This bungalow was built in the year 1890 and is considered one of the oldest and most well-maintained bungalows of the region. You may also visit the Gorumara National Park, Chalsa and Neora Valley National Park from Zurrantee.

The nearest railway station is New Jalpaiguri which enjoys good connectivity with the rest of the country. Zurrantee Tea Estate is 100 km from New Jalpaiguri. Buses are plying from Jalpaiguri and Siliguri to Meteli. Jeeps are available from Meteli to reach Zurrantee Tea Estate.

Reshikhola

Reshikhola is a small hill village situated at a distance of 37 km from Kalimpong in West Bengal. The place lies at the bank of the Reshi river which marks the border between the Indian states of West Bengal and Sikkim. The village's name is also derived from the name of the river. Although Rishikhola is a completely new destination, it is slowly emerging as a hot favourite for tourists due to its unique location and unmatched scenic beauty. Nestled among dense forests, cascading river and mind blowing landscapes, Reshikhola offers its visitors an ideal retreat from the hectic city life. Aritar Lake is located 6 km from Reshikhola.
